MOVA Silver & Black Constellations 4.5 Inch Globe

The brilliance of the stars in the night, shown on this self-rotating MOVA globe. Each of the 88 constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) is depicted using a series of star shapes, dots, and lines to give the impression of varied distances and sizes. Stars are shown in a metallic silver-tone atop a deep black backdrop, allowing every shape to pop. The number of constellations grew for many years with 12 belonging to the zodiac in 400 BC. 2,322 years later (1992) the International Astronomical Union formally accepted the modern list of 88 constellations, which is the popular starmap we know of today.
